your attitude and your effort."
"The two things in life you are in total control over are your attitude and your effort." In life, there aren't too many things we can foresee or control. Surprises come up and situations develop in ways we could not have imagined, leaving us to wonder if we have any control over our lives. The great thing is we do. While we cannot decide what happens to us all the time, we can control how we act and react to the various events in our lives. Our attitude and effort cannot change what happened, but it will change our overall experience and determine whether or not we grow and prosper. At the end of the day, the quality of our lives are not decided by the money we make or the lives we appear to live, rather it is decided by the thoughts we foster and the time we give to what matters most.

"Once you've accepted your flaws no one can use them against you." While difficult, this is one of the most rewarding and beneficial experiences in life. With it comes great self-awareness and self control as well as an ability to put our best foot forward even in times of struggle and strife.
"Everyone wants to be the sun to lighten up someone's life. But why not be the moon to brighten their darkest hours?" It feels great to know you're the most important person in someone's life, doesn't it? Not only does it lighten up that person's life but also yours, because finally you feel truly valued. But not everyone can be that "sun" in someone's life.
What's harder is to willingly be the moon in someone's life, to shed light and offer comfort through the more difficult times in life. It's a tough role, where you must put the other person's best interests front and center and help them even when they say they do not want it. It is simply love at its greatest and selflessness at finest. It takes all you have to put aside your own hurt and struggles because you know someone else needs you. But the reward could not be greater, because you have helped someone you love overcome something they thought they couldn't. "Maybe life isn't about avoiding the bruises. Maybe it's about collecting the scars to prove we showed up for it." While the bruises may hurt, life is ultimately about living to our fullest (in whatever way we deem is best for us) and making the most of the experiences we have and the opportunities presented to us. Is doing so is difficult? I think most of us would agree that it is but is often well worth it if we stay true to ourselves and use our values and ideals as guides through the topsy-turvy journey we call life.
I hope August got off to a great start for everyone! |
So, there's really not much to tell. I'm a person of many interests, and talking to others about theirs.
So, I guess that's it for now! Archives
