"Be more concerned with your character than with your reputation." We all worry about the image we present to the world. And it is completely understandable, the world is a harsh critic that causes many of us to change ourselves to be publicly acceptable in certain situations and then behave differently in other situations where we do not fear reproach or censor. The problem is when we become overly concerned with how we appear to others instead of focusing on who we are as people.

Commitment is a Choice Life is busy, especially today, in a world that is focused on quick results and action. People are working longer hours and have numerous commitments within their work, school, and social circles, so much so that they struggle to make time for other things, well in many cases, more like the others in their life. It is incredibly easy to get swept up in the race of life and forget about the simple pleasures (a good night's sleep, a relaxed sit-down meal, some exercise outdoors or some time to indulge in a favorite hobby) and spending time with those who matter most to us. But at the end of the day, how we have to decide what is important to us, and generally how we spend our time reflects those decisions.
"If they respect you, respect them. If they disrespect you, still respect them. Do not allow the actions of others to decrease your good manners, because you represent yourself, not others." I know this quote is a little different from the ones I usually talk about, but I really like the message it conveys and felt that it fit the mood of this week thus far. We all have experienced situations where we are tempted not to be our best selves. Sometimes, we get hurt or angry and the need to give the other person a taste of their own medicine becomes extremely tempting. But in those times, we have to reach for our inner strength and remember we are not them. All because someone else is okay playing unfairly doesn't mean that we too should be too. After all, we are all responsible for our actions. And it is our actions and the intentions behind them that ultimately define us.

So, there's really not much to tell. I'm a person of many interests, and talking to others about theirs.
So, I guess that's it for now! Archives
