What fall events are you most excited for?
Fall 2015 is almost here, yet everyone seems to have gotten into "fall mode" weeks ago! With fall events coming up, I started looking for cake inspiration. My favorite is the plum and burnt orange themed cake (#1), since it is a unusual color combination. The rest, of course are beautiful as well, and the last one (#5) is great if you love pumpkins!

Fall Color: Taupe As I've mentioned before, I'm rebuilding my wardrobe and experimenting with more neutrals. Taupe is a unique neutral, it looks like a blend of gray and beige, with a hint of something else. In a way, I think it is a more youthful color than certain shades of gray and beige, yet looks just as classic. Dark Floral Floral is a great print during the warmer months but sometimes you want to channel a different vibe, something with greater intensity. Dark floral is one of my all-time favorite prints during the colder months; it's girly and fun yet fits in perfectly with deeper and richer colors of fall and winter. Army Green Jackets As much as I like the concept of an army green jacket, I'd rather get a army green vest and/or shirt because I would get more use out of those. But I really love the two jackets I included here (#1 and #3), so we'll see. Fall Color: Red, red wine (I prefer to call it cranberry.)
This is such a beautiful color! It's the perfect blend of bold and elegant. Look #4 is such a great everyday look and #3 is great for a dinner out with family and/or friends. Even though I probably don't have any occasion to wear it to (#1), I'm tempted to buy it. The dress is absolutely gorgeous and fits my style so well. Hey guys!
So summer is winding down and schools are now in full swing (or at least most of them are). As excited as I am for college, I also sad that yet another summer has come to an end. One of my favorite things about our garden this year was the berries! They served as my favorite mid-afternoon snack for almost two months. Despite the unpredictable weather, the flavor was rich and the color vibrant. Have a great Labor Day weekend! I really wish I could wear this outfit tonight! I really love the combination of sea-foam green and red, it's perfect for summer, bright, fresh, and unexpected. Since the dress is such a beautiful piece, I decided to style it with more classic accessories, following a black and silver theme. Of course, the earrings were a bold choice but I felt a small pop of color would be a nice way to finish the outfit. My favorite pieces are definite the dress, watch and the shoes. The dress as you guys can tell is definitely my style with the summery colors and flowy skirt. The watch is unique with a band that I think would look really amazing on and be great piece to wear with so many outfits. As for the shoes? I just love dressy heels! What about you? How would you style this dress? Since I joined Pinterest (about two and a half years ago), I've looked at hundreds of plaid-inspired outfits. But it wasn't until recently (a month ago), that I finally bought some of my own. With school starting and fall almost at the door, it seems right to bring out the plaid (along with the pumpkin desserts and Thanksgiving planners!)
Above are my favorite plaid inspiration photos, but unfortunately I have no idea where I could get a dress like #1 or a skirt like #5. If anyone comes across anything similar, please let me know! Hope you all have a great week! Many colleges and universities are beginning a new academic year (now or within the next few weeks) and that means students are headed back to (or heading for the first time to) the dorms! Dorm decor is something that I always found exciting.. Since it's a relatively small space, you have to get creative when decorating. Lucky for us, there are so many unique options to add personality and style to the room without taking up too much space. Above I designed a room that I think would be really nice for the girl who loves warmth and bright colors yet doesn't want anything too crazy or intense. The color-blocking and chevron print on the sheets in slightly muted colors is probably my favorite thing about this room; they're fun yet nothing too trendy or loud. Of course, butterfly chairs are a old favorite of mine, so this white one is great to have and can be accented with a colorful pillow. The rest of the pieces come together to create a playful atmosphere that can be enjoyed year-round. What about you? What color scheme would you choose for your dorm/room? Python is definitely one of my all-time favorite prints! It's not as bold as leopard or cheetah but just as interesting, if not more so. It's wild yet sophisticated, combining two qualities that I love to incorporate into my outfits.
Full python pieces are exciting to style, both the skirts (#2 and #4) and the wrap dress (#6) would be really fun to experiment with, maybe with some neutral pieces (gray or taupe). Though #4 would be great with a bright blouse in cobalt or even a pastel pink. A hint of python is another fun way to add something special to any outfit, especially one that is on the plainer side. A monochromatic outfit can be spiced up with a pair of python pumps, sandals with a python accent, or even just a watch with a python print. Back to school time is upon us! For those who have already started school, I'm sorry I didn't get this post up sooner! One of my favorite things about back to school is planning my outfits for the first week back. This year, I'll probably go with a maxi dress on at least one day, but I'm planning to stick with jeans for the most part. But then again, the weather this year has been so unpredictable that planning ahead isn't exactly the best way to go. I picked a few of my favorite back to school outfits ideas to share with you guys and realized that blue seems to be a favorite of mine this year...Floral print also seems to be popping up quite a bit (I should probably take that as a hint, right?) What would your ideal 1st day of school outfit look like? I think every girl has a dress style that she feels amazing in. For me, that would be a side panel dress. I love these dresses because they elongate and slim especially since I'm on the short side (5'3"). It is also universally flattering, though if you have a very defined figure already, it may be too overwhelming.
The first picture above is probably my favorite; I have it in green and it can be worn year-round. The third dress is really lovely too, with the side panels only on the skirt. It's perfect for any semi-formal event during the warm months! What about you? What's your favorite dress style? This outfit would be perfect for brunch/lunch out with friends! It's fun and fresh with a crisp white cropped blazer and cutout ballet flats. The dress is absolutely beautiful with the stripes and floral detailing. The deep blue and bright orange definitely give this outfit its fun summer vibe. As for accessories, my favorite is the clutch. Its unusual woven texture is eye-catching and can go well with so many different outfits! |
