Blue eye liner has made an appearance this season, and I'm hoping to try out some new looks with it in the coming months.
We are at fall's doorstep and we're moving on to sweaters, scarves, boots, and of course the makeup to go along with them! I'm excited to see so many wearable colors this season, especially in the eyeshadow department.

Hey guys! Hope all of you are having a great summer! I'm so sorry for the lack of posts these past two months, June was a very hectic month with graduations and such. July also had a lot going on but I'm hoping that August will be back to normal. That being said, with college starting soon, my blogging schedule will change! My class schedule seems manageable but college is a huge transition so I don't want to make any promises. But I will say that I have every intention of posting at least once a week either here or on the main blog if not both. Back to the post! In the past month or so, I have rediscovered my love of nail polish which suddenly dwindled a couple years ago. My taste in nail polish remains pretty much the same, I still love metallics and stay away from matte formulas. Some of my current favorites include metallic pastels, rich "fall/wintery" colors (see deep blue and bronze above) and glittery/chunky (stars, snowflakes, flowers etc.) I'm hoping to try a few of these out sometime, and would love to hear any recommendations you guys may have. Above are five skincare products that I really love. I have very sensitive skin that reacts to most products, so finding ones that worked well is always exciting.
Daily Use: Neutrogena Deep Clean Cream Cleanser: I use this cleanser every night to wash my face. It's extremely gentle which is great because many cleansers are too harsh for my skin, but it leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean. Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream for Dry, Sensitive Skin: Cetaphil has been my go-to moisturizer for over ten years now! It's the perfect, no-nonsense cream that does what it is supposed to do. The no fragrance factor is also a big plus, no irritants! Bi-weekly/Weekly Use: St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub: This scrub is great but I personally try to limit how often I use it as my sensitive skin cannot handle too much exfoliating. So, I use it one or twice a week to remove dead skin cells and brighten my complexion. Clinique Liquid Facial Soap (in Dry/Combination Skin): This facial soap is an awesome product! I'm always unsure of facial soaps, since most of them are too harsh on the skin. This one though, is very mild and a good choice when washing your face in the morning and at night. I personally use it in the morning, especially if I've wore a decent amount of makeup the night before. This way, I remove any excess makeup and start the day with fresh, clean skin! Bi-monthly/Monthly Use: Bioré Deep Cleansing Pore Strips: Unfortunately, stubborn blackheads are an issue for me. I've tried numerous ways and products to try and remove them, but they haven't worked very well. So, I finally got a pack of these strips and so far so good. You definitely need to use them a few times though, to get the best results. The lip gloss palettes from Jane are something I definitely do not regret buying! This particular palette is Brocade 04 which is has three shades of red, a hot pink, and a muted orange. My favorite thing about it is that it's one product with 5 shades so I can just take this with me and I have 5 lip gloss choices. The quality of the product is average, with pigmentation on the lower end, but I personally don't mind that. There is another Lipkicks palette called Leather 03 and it's perfect for fall! It has two muted maroon/red shades, a pastel pink, a muted purple, and a burnt orange, it's definitely going to be a staple for me this season. Have you guys tried any of the Jane products? I am so happy to say I achieved my goal of posting everyday this week! Thank you to everyone who checks out my blog! Hope to hear from you guys soon, let me know if there are any types/particular posts that you'd like to see!
Bobbi Brown Limited Edition Sand and Surf Eye Palette-Surf
This palette is just so gorgeous; a beautiful collection of shimmer eyeshadow in various shades of gold, as well as peach, ocean blue and tropical green. NARS Duo Eyeshadow Two rich shades of purple eyeshadow, one shimmer and one matte, I would love to wear them in the fall and winter. Paul & Joe Eye Colour Trio Refill A pretty trio of silver, peach and bronze shimmer eyeshadow. This trio is perfect for "on the go" beauty! Clinique Cheek Pop-Peach Pop A bright yet natural looking cheek color that applies like a powder without looking like one. Stila Lip Glaze Trio A pretty pink & purple lip gloss trio. I really would love to try this sometime soon! Bobbi Brown Limited Edition Eyeshadow Quad Palette-Nude As you guys can probably tell, I love neutral eyeshadow palettes, there are so many great options out there and it's hard to not want to try them all! This quad is great with two matte and two shimmer shadows. Lancome Color Fever Gloss Sensual Vibrant Lipshine Moisture boosting and gorgeous color? Count me in! I love lipgloss and hope I get to try this one soon. Too Faced Perfect Flush Blush This heart shaped blush is great for any skin tone with three shades of blush, pink, peach and light bronze. Combine all three for the universal look, or customize a look with a single shade. Lancome Show- Hypnose Star 'it Accessories' Eye Brightening all in One 5 Shadow & Liner Palette I love green eyeshadow almost as much as I do neutrals. I can't say why though. Rich emeralds and spring greens can make an amazing look without too much of effort. It's also bold and daring with being too crazy, so maybe that's why. NYX Loose Peal Eye Shadow It's described to be ultra shimmery with high impact and is long lasting. What's not to love? NARS Lip Gloss I've been loving the orange lip lately, and this just may be the product I've been looking for. Terry Aqua Print Eyeshadow Stain in Pink Frappe I don't know if I've mention it much on the blog, but pink is a color near and dear to my heart. Light pink eyeshadow is always tempting and this light peach version is no exception. So what items are on your makeup/beauty wish list? Any items that you feel are totally worth the splurge? A few weeks ago, I walked into Ulta and spotted this eyeshadow. I had never tried cream eyeshadow before so I picked up these few bottles and figured I'd tried it and see how they were.
After trying the eyeshadow, I have to say I really like it. For those of you who like an intense matte finish, this isn't for you. The finish is shimmery and sheer. For pronounced color, you have to apply about four coats of the shadow. Another thing to note, is that once the eyeshadow dries, it is impossible to move. Personally, I like this because it creates a good base to build on other shades. The one con is that it isn't a bit waterproof, though this makes removal easy. Do you like cream eyeshadow? If so, what's your favorite brand? A few days ago, I was sorting out my desk, when I realized all my makeup was haphazardly stacked in random parts of my room. Needlessly to say, organization isn't my strong suit. In an effort to at least attempt some level of neatness, I went looking for containers of some sort to do the job. After about ten minutes, I came across this box (photographed above).
It was originally a box of kids stamps but I liked the compartments of the box, too much to throw it away. So after the stamps were moved into my larger stamp box, I came up with an idea to repaint it. Granted, it wasn't the most novel idea, but it turned out rather well. I started by painting each section of the box a different shade of gold. So the result was a rainbow of gold shades on the inside while the outside was a simple ivory. The compartments turned out to be an ideal size for the eyeshadow palettes, eyeliner pencils, lip glosses, etc. In the end, my makeup found a home and the box a purpose! How do you organize your makeup? Bath and Body Works Sweet Pea Shimmer Mist is my favorite scent for spring and summer. Though not very strong or exotic, it has a sweet scent that is young and refreshing. It keeps everything light and bright making it ideal for the warmer months ahead! The shimmer mist is subtle, not overly shiny or gaudy making it perfect for casual settings.
"This classic favorite is a playful blend of sweet pea, watery pear, sheer freesia, and luscious raspberry with a touch of soft musk." What's your favorite perfume/ body spray? Do you have certain preferences for each season? |
So, there's really not much to tell. I'm a person of many interests, and talking to others about theirs.
So, I guess that's it for now! Archives
